Producing up to 200 books per hour, the automated DB-280 is ideal for short-run and on-demand printing applications. Simply jog your sheets and place them into the automatic gripping clamp. A double pass over the roughening cutter provides superior notching to ensure superb glue penetration for a strong finished bind. The Duplo DB-280 Perfect Binding Machine features a patented clamping and nipping system that ensures precise, consistent, and square binds. Innovative features of the DB-280 Perfect Binder & Padder include a dust extractor as well as two glue drums that provide a more durable bind and additional glue capacity. With a quick push of a button, the DB-280's perfect binding capabilities can convert to a padding function where only the precise amount of glue is added to complete perfectly bound note pads. For added convenience and efficiency, the DB-280 features a cover detection mechanism at the nipping station that assures the clamp will not travel back to the nipping position until the cover is in place. Operator convenience is further insured with the ability to set the nipping and clamping time and a standby mode that allows periodic interruptions in production while maintaining glue temperature. A safety cover on the notching blade ensures operator safety and a finished book counter round out the user friendly Duplo DB-280 Perfect Binding & Padding Machine. The Duplo DB-280 Perfect Binder is compatible with any standard hot-melt glue, however, we recommend it be used with the Duplo DB-280 Adhesive. Creasing digitally or conventionally printed documents with the DC-445 prior to folding ensures a crisp and professional finish. The unique top feeding system reduces scratching commonly caused by bottom-feed designs and productivity is highly increased as all functions are fully automatic after loading the documents. The user-friendly LCD control panel, automatic air-suction feeder, and 30 preset jobs allow for impressive processing speeds of up to 3,000 sheets per hour. With extended high-capacity feed and receive trays, the Duplo DC-445 accepts a wide range of paper sizes from 5.5" x 5.9" to 12.6" x 25.6" and substrates from 110 gsm (80 lb. text) to 350 gsm (130 lb. cover). Creasing performance is optimized via the adjustable 3-step crease depth for desired paper type and weight. A number of optional features may be added to maximize the functionality of the DC-445. An air-knife provides additional air to improve feed consistency and reduce static problems while double-feed detectors stop the machine when two or more sheets being fed are detected thus preventing mis-feeds and jams. In addition, up to three slitting or perforating modules can be added to achieve ultimate versatility.
